Google Smart Speakers
Smart speakers represent one of those rare instances where an entirely new product category is redefined. With the devices introduced by Amazon and Google, people worldwide learned how to control their homes simply using their voices – from switching on lights to playing music, and even making calls. Once you start using them, it's hard to imagine going back to a time when this technology wasn't available.
I had the privilege of leading the UX team for these devices at Google from 2018 to 2022. We launched both entry-level and premium speakers, consistently enhancing the Assistant experience and audio quality. It was an incredible opportunity to delve into UX design in a context with very minimal UI. Moreover, exploring the home music experience, a personal passion of mine, made these projects particularly fun. “Hey Google, play Tom Jobim.” :)
“There's never been a better time to flood your house with music, thanks to new Google speakers.”
